I’m at Northern Illinois University and apparently this “tool” got stolen out of a university van infront of my dorm room. They claim the value roughly 13,000 bucks and I looked all over the internet to see what it was but came up dry. anyone know what an articulated gyrogorphotor is??? Thanks ---

It’s just like a rigid gyrogophotor, except it has bendable joints in it. Glad to help. ---

Not sure exactly _what_ it is, but you needed it to beat the third boss in “Wizard’s Quest” on NES. Are you sure you didn’t mishear? Maybe what they said was “CD player”. Seriously, I think you use on either for triangulating a drilling point, or for actually drilling. ---

Searching the net brought up [this message board thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=239980), but they seemed stumped. It’s a recent thread though, and someone may yet give the answer. Hmm (based on a very limited knowledge of Greek)… articulated rotating–“go”–light emitter. Could it be something like a laser level, where a laser is spun to produce a reference plane. Maybe a gyroscopically stabilized version? ---
