Trying to find this using Google was challenging, to say the least, so I won’t post a link, but in the early 1990s, a teenage boy met Bill Clinton, and said of the experience, “It was better than sex. I haven’t had sex before, but I’m sure this was better.”

i dunno sex is pretty alright, even if it’s bad sex, maybe, but the presence of pleasure ranks below the cessation of pain(which is its own pleasure) so I’d have to go with a good back rub or full body massage as being actually better than sex
If you throw in a few chocolates with the massage…there isn’t even a question as to which is better

As a glider pilot, connecting with a booming thermal when you it looks like you are going to have to land is pretty good. From depression on the thought of landing to the exhilaration of the climb in a matter of seconds. Followed several minutes later by the relaxed peaceful feeling when you finally reach the top. Unlike sex, I can repeat this many, many times in an afternoon. I think I’ll go have a smoke now.

I enjoy sex and think it’s great but I’m going on 7 years without it and don’t see that changing any time soon. So, for my sake and my mental health, I hope there are plenty of things better but I admit I can’t think of any. I’ve been forced to try to detach sex from my identity and value as a person. It’s a weird thing to me. I would say some things are broadly better, like just good health (I know plenty of people who engage in very unhealthy behavior to acquire sex or it is somehow related to their illness, but I am sex-positive for sure), friends you can trust with no agenda, good food.

I have not had very much sex. What I have had was largely pleasant, and at times spectacular. It’s good fun. As I get older I think I find a satisfying meal, followed by a nap in a cosy room, then watching a great movie uninterrupted, is now better than sex.
I am open to having my mind changed by active demonstration.

I think it’s just an expression. Sex can be a horrible experience, so it certainly can’t be an actual stable benchmark. Good sex is supposed to be the ultimate human experience so, if something is “better than sex”, it has to be fantastically awesome.
