We invented cheeseburgers! And, er, Hot Pockets, right?
There’s a restaurant chain in Dublin called “Eddie Rockets”.
It’s done up like a '50s diner, with old-style jukeboxes on all the tables and modernist decor throughout.
On the menu are things like burgers, hot dogs, fries, fried chicken, club sandwiches, chilli, some salads, and malt shakes.
It’s entirely Irish owned and run, but the theme is 100% Americana (or a stereotype thereof).
Here in Paris we have a little place known as ‘Joe Allens’ which is marketed as a New York style restaurant.
For me it seems pretty good compared to the places I’ve been to in the states and would say that it’s what we would call typical American food.
