Sorry to be prickly, **Shodan**. My hackles are spring loaded these days.

Hey, **Malacandra** , I once saw a documentary about some species of flying fox where the males have triangular penises and the females have matching vagains as a probable guard against interspecies breeding. Useless knowledge is fun!

Maybe the author envisioned a toblerone shape. Ribbed, for her hymen breaking pleasure.

> It’s not just about being “too posh to push”, it’s about weighing up all your probablities and coming to the conclusion that an elective c-section, rather than a long labour and difficult instrumental delivery or emergency section may be in the best interests of both mother and baby.

I’d just like to point out, as a woman who achieved a VBA2C at my local hospital which still “allows” them, that if I had been denied my attempt, I would not have had an “elective” cesarean. It would have been forced on me, violently against my will, for no better medical reason than “something might go wrong.”

Sometimes, there’s a good medical reason. I had one such cesarean delivery. Sometimes there’s not. I had one of those, too. But “We don’t have any actual evidence that you, as an individual, are particularly at risk, but something might go wrong, and you’re going to have major surgery because you got pregnant” is not a good medical reason.

As for this ‘cosmetic gynaecology’, I admit that I do not like the look of my girly bits. I tried shaving myself once just to see how I liked it, and was revulsed by the appearance of my own genitalia. My husband quite liked it. To each their own, I guess. But I find that simply allowing the hair to grow back, which was less itchy anyway, took away the visual offense without the “need” for surgery to make me look like I did before I had 3 pregnancies. (Once you start there, why not go all the way: a tummy tuck to take away ‘twin skin’, some sort of laser ablation to get rid of stretch marks…it just goes on).

I did not think those women in the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures looked better. They just looked different.

As this is GQ, **Muffin** , all I’ll say is “Geez, I should have seen that coming.” In my defense, I’ll say the emphasis should be on the “only.” My point is, that despite the emphasis on appearance, so-called “cosmetic gynecology” shouldn’t be considered only for visual purposes, but also for the physical discomfort that the root cause causes, if that makes sense.

Peace - DESK

I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for their posts. After many years of posting, I believe this is the first thread I have started that went to multiple pages. I’m so proud 😉 This thread went in a most unexpected direction. This has been most informative.

My husband described his ex’s anatomy as “scrambled” and thus less aesthetically pleasing.

This is the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

I really go for a gal who smells like Armorall.
