4:00 pm EST. Ostensibly baby-sitting my foster siblings. I plopped them on the couch and put in “A Bug’s Life.” They’re quiet. I just got inside from watching them play in their wading pool. It’s not hot out, per se, it’s only 85, but the sun is harsh. I had to put on the smallest clothing I own, and I was still sweaty. It’s good to be inside. Not a particle of tan, either, and I was out there several hours. Tried to call my future roommate. No answer. ---

It’s 8:36PM EST and it is excruciatingly hot in my apartment. Damn the man who decided to convert this one family house into two apartments. I am listening to the “Me First and the Gimme Gimmes” cd that I bought about an hour ago. Currently playing, “Mandy” as in the Barry Manilow song. Wondering if I’m going to see the new SO tonight. Not really sure if he’s the SO yet, so it’s debatable. Contemplating why my cat hates my roommate. Pondering if putting ice cubes in my armpits will make it cooler in here. Trying to figure out if I’m going to make any money tomorrow bartending at the restaurant. Bloody Marys, anyone? Worrying about the little sister that just went to Florida with her bf. I think he may propose this week. If he doesn’t, I think she will be crushed. Sweating. ---

8:40 pm Saturday in NYC… Still wishing I had a laptop, because the animals are still sucking up the cool air in the bedroom while I’m out here browsing the boards and IMing the boyfriend and my mom… Contemplating using the bright red hair dye kit I just bought-- Clairol “Xtreme FX.” Been thinking about putting some wild streaks in, found this stuff and snapped it up. But I’ll have to wash my hair before I even use it and I don’t own a blowdryer so it’ll take for_ever_… Wishing I hadn’t eaten so many Skittles… Considering making popcorn… ---

1:57am EST –Sitting at work riding out the last four hours or so of a twenty hour shift. –Answering phone calls that are supposed to be going to a sex hotline but instead are coming to the hospital. –Answering questions about how our staff could possibly lose a $500,000 robot inside the hospital. (Happened earlier today) –Listening to Billy Joel-Greatest Hits Volume II –Sucking on a cough drop because my voice is slowly getting hoarse and my throat is dry from talking all day. –Hoping my home computer gets fixed tomorrow so I can ICQ and chat again–I’m suffering severe withdrawal. –Trying not to scratch all the skin off my arm from where I dared expose some bare skin to air yesterday while people were mowing the grass. –Catching up on my board reading since my home computer is broken. –Wondering what in the world I am going to send the person I was assigned in the SDMB White Elephant swap. –Needing to pee but having no one who can watch the phones and alarms while I run to the bathroom. ---

2:00 AM bedtime was 2 hours ago (i’m only 17!) waiting for me to get busted by mom wanting to sleep but having too much fun discussing dirty things with a sophomore in lower Ohio I know (I’m in metro Detroit) Realising how innocent I am, and the fact that that needs to be changed. It’s Sunday, 12:45 PST. I’m at work, bored outta my skull. My email buddies (zyzz and Nen, this means you) don’t work Sundays. Drinking more coffee. Just talked to my mom and dad back home in RI and wished my dad a happy Father’s Day and happy retirement. Drinking even more coffee. I was up late with some of the BAD’s last night. zyzz and Jack Batty were sleeping on my couch when I went to work, the lucky bastards! (Not on the _same_ couch, you pervs!) Thinking of calling Nymysys. Haven’t talked to her in forever, and I miss her. ---
