Oh, i hadn’t noticed this is in the pit.
Most of this post is bigoted islamophobic bullshit, you asshole.

Hell, don’t even go as far as the Crusades. Right now a whole damn lot of self-described “Christians” proudly stand to oppose and denounce and seek the undoing of the secular values of modern Western culture.
…
And oh yeah, the “no go zones”… come the fuck on really, how many years old is THAT canard?
Well, apparently y’all don’t have critical thinking skills because you don’t agree with this person’s viewpoint. I guess we’re all “dangerous” because of that too.
I hate how I’m non-critical, dangerous, and “emotional” (I fail to see why it’s wrong to be angry and upset by the deaths of innocents particularly children) for having a negative view of bebe and his cronies. The absolute dehumanizing disdain shown towards Muslims is pretty breath taking. It sounds oddly like how nazis talk about Jews. Curious that.
When I lived im London abour 20 years back, I lived in the Tower Hamlets area, a downmarket part of the East End.
The block I lived closest to were mostly Pakistani, the adjacent block were mostly Afghan. It was a wonderland of new food for me.
But everyone had a job. Sure, council housing has its benefits, but I never saw a Muslim man drinking Tennants Extra Strong while lazing on the grass in the park at 08:00 in the mornig while waiting for his dole payment, or walking their children in a pram smoking a cigarette.
I have UK citizenship. The people I liked the most were Muslim immigrants. I am as white as is possible, full on Anglo-Saxon.
You are talking nonsense.
In addition, I now live in a city in South Africa where both moderate and hardcore Musl8ms live, too. I work with them. They are as westernized as I am, as much as that counts. Sure, there are a number who take off lunch hour on Friday to pray but just like Christians on Sundays this is not all of them.
I suggest that you locate a mosque nearby where you live. Go and greet the Imam. He’s most likely to be a cool guy. That is what priests do best, after all.
Ask hm if you can join for Eid al Fitr (probably April 9 this year) It is like Thanksgiving, but more lamb, and in my opinion more generosity. Chances are he’ll say yes. Go. Learn. Meet Muslim people.
I guess that last phrase is actually the best answer: meet more Muslim people.
Best holiday pitch I’ve ever read.
Yeah, I was gonna say, fundamentalist Christians currently have a whole lot of power right now, and have no interest in acclimating to mainstream US culture.
My ex-girlfriend,who might be a little bit nuts, designed a typeface in her final year of college based on the ritual slaughter.
I met the Imam, I did not attend the slaughter.
I must also point out to people like @JJnoLAla that almost all of the slaughter goes to charity. Muslims are just like the rest of us, they too care about the less fortunate.
Here are five representatives of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly. Notice the constituencies they represent.
Robert Beglarian (Armenians (South))
Ara Shaverdian (Armenians (North))
Esfandiar Ekhtiyari (Zoroastrian)
Homayoun Sameh (Jewish)
Sharli Anvieh (Assyrian)
This isn’t from FOX news, this is from a friend who’s lived in Paris for decades. I have also heard this from a former FBI agent who works in intelligence now. They tell the same details, which have described without exaggeration or hyperbole.
Sure buddy. Your “friend” who lives in “Paris”. But I wouldn’t know him, he’s “Canadian”…
Ask me what I think about the credibility or morality of US intelligence scum. Go on, ask me…
Your friend is a mistaken then:
Ask me what I think about the veracity of said “friend”'s very existence, let alone the rubbish a particular poster is asserting.
I’m fairly certain the no-go zones nonsense has been posted on this site a number of times before and, of course, the SDMB community, holding true to its mission of eradicating ignorance, has debunked it every time.
It is entirely possible that he does have these friends who said these things, and they might have actually believed them. There is no shortage of Islamophobes in Paris or in the FBI. But should these people exist, the probability that either of them know what they are talking about is about nil.
One of my best work friends was an Iranian Armenian. Her family had lived there for over 300 years.
There was a camera crew that went into one of the ‘no-go’ zones to debunk the idea. They were attacked, and had to flee.
These zones exist. No, there aren’t any ‘official’ no go zones where Sharia Law is the only law, so far as I know. But there are plenty of ‘no go zones’ where obviously non-Muslim people risk being attacked if they go there, as the purity of the area as a Muslim enclave is enforced by angry, unassimilated young people.
Cite?
What on Earth is this supposed to mean?
Maybe they just don’t like camera crews.
I couldn’t find the original one I was looking for, as it happened at least 5 years ago.
But here’s a couple of more recent ones:
