In my opinion, what is most annoying about isn’t any quality of the phrase itself, but that what **kabbes** said is true. It’s used almost exclusively by people that weren’t anywhere near the boards when it started. I’ve never used it because it’s an inside joke that I am outside of – IMO it’s a pity more people don’t feel that way about it. ---

But **Opal** , what I really want to know (and I’m sure others are also wondering) is, how do you _feel_ about it? Is it annoying? Flattering? Tiresome? Or do you feel like it doesn’t really have anything to do with you anymore, since a lot of people doing it are just carrying on a habit? ---

I pretty much feel that it has its own life. Half the people who use it don’t even know who I _am_ so it isn’t really “about me” it’s more just “about itself”. It doesn’t bother me that people do it, but if they all stopped tomorrow I wouldn’t miss it. ---

1. I think it’s funny. 2. I like it, I don’t care what some of you say. 3. Hi Opal! 4. I will keep on doing it. 5. It’s harmless, it doesn’t add that much more to a post, and isn’t used all that often anyway (how many times do you make a list a day?). 6. The big-ass sigs some people display with every post are far more obtrusive than a cute little “Hi Opal!” 7. Speaking of big-ass sigs, here’s mine. (But I don’t display in with every post. Usually just once a thread, if that.) ---
