I love this question. Car CD players are acceptable as are home CD players or (godforbid) Tape players. I’ve always thought that music is a fantastic insight into someone’s personality. Its a pretty subjective insight but I see an immediate difference between someone who has, say, Beethoven’s 9th as opposed to, say, Britney Spears in their musicbox. Don’t you? How about Artist / Album. Here’s mine: I believe right now my car’s 6disc changer has: DJ Shadow / Endtroducing Habib Koite / Ma Ya Ry Cooder & Ali Farka Toure / Talking Timbuktu Morcheeba / Who can you trust? Blackalicious / N.I.A. Cornelius / Point So whats in your CD player right now? ---

Mixed tape in my car (the horror, the horror - still using a tape player). **Steve Earle’s Guitar Town** at home (At least it was when I left this morning. It will probably be either **Raffi Sings Silly Songs** or **Van Morrison’s Moondance** when I get home. Those are my 3-year old’s current favorites. Oh, the joys of parenting.). ---

Shostakovich’s suite from _The Bolt_, Jazz Suites 1 & 2, and Tahiti Trot. Shostakovich’s less serious stuff is wonderful, and _The Bolt_ is unjustly obscure IMHO, no matter how dreary a ballet about industrial espionage may sound… ---
