What is it with American TV schedules?

By doomed I meant doomed to be bad IMO, not doomed to fail. Shows don’t have to be good to be successful and they certainly don’t have to impress me to succeed either.

But “Friends” wasn’t bad; it was very funny. I think you need a better example of “doomed to be bad.”

It depends, really. Kitchen Nightmares (US version) has had several weeks in the current season (ending tonight) where they aired a rerun instead of a new episode. And I seem to recall Hell’s Kitchen taking off for several weeks last season, then coming back with a night rerunning the two most recent eps before resuming.

Speaking of Hell’s Kitchen. there’s an example of a US show with more than one season per year. There were two seasons last year. And I don’t watch it, but I think that Top Model show on CW has several season per year also, though IIRC they call them “cycles” instead.

I guess we can be thankful for Reality shows. Survivor, Big Brother etc. never repeat their episodes. Unless of course you count the first 5-10 minutes of every show. :smack:

Huh? They may not repeat them in the season, but I’ve seen a lot of reality shows after their first run.

I don’t remember any of the main networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX) repeating episodes of their Reality shows. (Big Brother, Survivor, DWTS, Amer Idol, Biggest Loser, etc). A cable network might repeat them but not the Network themselves.
