# What is it with people who need praise for doing ordinary daily tasks?

Last night my roommate called me into the bathroom. She said she had fixed something and she wanted me to see it. “Fixed something? Like, you repaired a loose tile or something?” I said as I walked into the bathroom. No, nothing like that. She took the empty toilet paper roll off the holder and put on a new roll to replace it. And then she pouted when I didn’t get excited or clap or anything.
