# What is my used computer worth approximately?

I am looking to sell my current computer to a friend. I want to give him a good deal on it but I don’t really have any idea of how much it is worth these days. Any ballpark estimates on what this comp is worth? It’s a little over 2 years old with the following specs:

$1000~ (not including friend discount is reasonable) is reason, I think. That’s assuming everything is working.

$1000-$1300 sounds good, that’s a beefy machine and monitor. Although I’d give a $500 discount for having Vista on there 😃

I was thinking the same thing, but according to [Wiki](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_i7_microprocessors#.22Bloomfield.22_.2845_nm.29) the 940 was part of the intial launch in Nov '98.

Yes, the i7-940 was released in [November 2008](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_i7_microprocessors#.22Bloomfield.22_.2845_nm.29).
