# What Is "Selling The Drama" About?

The song _Selling the Drama_ by Live… what’s the story behind the lyrics? Anyone?

It came on the radio as we drove home tonight and got me wondering. It has some strange words in it.

For those who don’t know the song, the lyrics are on the official site at [http://www.friendsoflive.com/albums.asp](http://www.friendsoflive.com/albums.asp) - you’ll need to follow the lyrics link under the album Throwing Copper.

On a side note, does anyone know of a place on the net that explores the story behind lyrics? I’ve tried Googling, with no luck.

Personally, I take it to be about two things: gaining the strength to give up on religion, then using one’s own influence (through their music) to change the minds of others.

That article from [www.cpyu.org](http://www.cpyu.org) was bizarre. So, a Christian organization explains that much of Throwing Copper was inspired by the band’s disillusionment to Christiantiy, and then recommends the album to teenagers and parents as a way of following Christianity more closely? 😕
