When the antagonist walks away, dropping it is even easier. Also, why would the black guy lie about his age? Maybe if he were making fun of the older guy. But if that were the case he would have gone even older: “You’re 67? Well I’m 85!” I think the black guy is 50, just like he says. He reveals his age to show that he is _not_ a young guy in an unfair fight with an old guy. ---

There’s no way that guy is 50…no way. I can’t get behind some one following some one else at the prompting of a stranger to punch them in the face. I don’t care what came before. The white guy walked away and the black guy hit first. I didn’t read the youtube comments. I never read youtube comments. The people who comment on youtube suffer from some sort of mental deficiency that, before PalinWorld, I would say was mental retardation. But since I’m not being satirical, I’ll have to find a different word. I think I’ll go with openheadwoundedness. Or maybe lobotomitosis. Anyway, when you take the first swing you better be prepared for what comes next. ---

Upon viewing again, I am also amused by the onlookers who are egging on the poor black dude. Clearly thinking that the white guy is about to get his ass kicked, and taking glee from it. But when the black dude gets wrecked, and askes for an “Amber Lance”, they are all shocked and dismayed. Morons. ---

Punk gets trashed by a crazy old motherfucker twice his size? There’s a lesson there and it has nothing to do with race. ETA: I used to wonder why I was never mugged. Wife said, "Nobody’s gonna fuck with someone who looks like Lenny from “Of Mice and Men.” I thought she meant my size, but it could be because, especially back then, I’m crazy and even now being old doesn’t mitigate it. ---

They were both acting trashy, and the circumstances of the initial argument are unclear. But agree with above poster about the old man moving to the front to get out of the situation, then the black guy came up to him and hit him. He totally instigated the physical part, and got his ass beat for it. And blame the onlookers as well for encouraging him so they could get some entertainment out of it. ---

For the record, I think that violence in direct self-defense is entirely moral. But the instant you cross from self-defense to inflicting punishment, you’re over the line. ---

That was going to be my next observation too. They were all to eager to egg on the black guy and were clearly pleased with the notion that he was going to “kick his white ass”, but once the beatdown commenced, it was all “Lawdy lawdy!” “Oh no!” “Stop it, stop it!”. And then of course the “You can sue him blood, I got it on video.” Yeah right. Another funny part was once Epic Beard Man gets off the bus, screaming “Don’t fuck with me!” the black dude says something like “I’m gonna fuck you up…next time” all half-heartedly and without any conviction, then shuffles to the back of the bus to be consoled by his would-be supporters. ---

It’s funny what we choose to hear. I heard more than one person tell them both to stop. I did hear Camera Bitch egging him on but I sort of discounted her because it was obvious to me she was looking for something good to record. And I disagree with friend **'luci**. Once you’ve started the fight, you should be prepared for an ass-kicking of whatever proportion the person you hit can dish out. Well, maybe not _any_ proportion. Once a man is down, that’s it. But in this case, it’s obvious the man wasn’t down. In fact he threatened Crazy Beard Guy yet again-- once the coast was clear. If there was another person who had it coming in that video, it was Camera Bitch. Someone should have taken her camera and thrown it out the bus window. ---

The white guy is mentally ill. Reading a thread on Reddit (cannot find it now) the guy has a history of starting fights and has been incarcerated multiple times for random violence. This video only shows a guy going though a huge adrenalin rush and having an anxiety attack. He is surrounded by his tormentors and nobody is coming to his aid. I don’t see a crazy man and his actions in the first don’t support the claim that he starts fights. He didn’t start this one.
