Over 320,000 Americans have died from Covid-19. Does anyone know the average age of this cohort (with cite)?

Based on the data here which are pretty up to date (12/19) for deaths in the U.S. I get the mean age to be about 75, median around 78.

That’s interesting. It prompted me to look up the figures for Australia and, for a much smaller number of deaths, it is much the same. Only 20 people under 60 have died, and 15 of them were over 50. The over 70s account for 94% of the deaths.

And how, does anybody know, does that compare with the corresponding figure for deaths from all causes?

It’s on the data in **Riemann** ’s link. Very interesting for the younger age groups. Only 467 deaths by COVID under 24 out of about 54,000 total deaths.
