I’m listening to the JPS Tanakh but the multiple readers pronounce names differently and mostly use the Anglicized versions, which is annoying and disappointing. ---

The Douai-Rheims-Challoner version owed a lot to the Authorised Version (more than it liked to admit) but it was based on the Vulgate Bible so it was still only a translation of a translation, and the vocabulary was excessively Latinate in places.
