What is the Best Bible version available

I know that Messianic Jews aren’t what I thought they were, but I do still sometimes enjoy reading the Complete Jewish Bible, and its attempt to translate the New Testament in a way closer to the Jewish roots of many of its authors.

I wouldn’t recommend it as your only Bible, but I enjoy looking at it every now and again. If nothing else, I learn the more authentic Jewish names.

I’m listening to the JPS Tanakh but the multiple readers pronounce names differently and mostly use the Anglicized versions, which is annoying and disappointing.

The Douai-Rheims-Challoner version owed a lot to the Authorised Version (more than it liked to admit) but it was based on the Vulgate Bible so it was still only a translation of a translation, and the vocabulary was excessively Latinate in places.
