I have a VERY DRY patch on my cheek (butt) and I am sure it’s from my cushion breaking down. Ordering a new cushion in 2 weeks (the Ride). Meanwhile, I have tried all sorts of creams, moisture barriers, lotions with no real luck. I try to stay off it as much as possible. Any ideas?

**Moderator Action**

What works best is more of a matter of advice and opinion, and as this is somewhat medically related, it’s better suited to IMHO.

My son’s eczema gets really bad in the winter months on his lower legs from being so dry.
The best thing we’ve used is LUSH dream cream. Clears the dry skin right up, smells pleasant, and it’s not oily.

I’ve had my best results for dry skin with Cetaphil, Aveeno, and Working Hands.

In all seriousness, for persistent irritation on your rear, consider using a diaper cream. Desitin is odorless, Boudreaux’s is very thick and covers well.

Whenever my skin gets really dry, Nivea Creme always fixes it right up after a generous application or two. It’s not expensive or smelly or hard to find, either.

I use coconut oil on my excema, really pleasant to use and it absorbs quickly.

Triple Paste is extremely good - better than Boudreaux’s for sure, and is unscented.

Calmoseptine is the best we’ve found, but it’s kind of pricey.

For general dry skin use, my wife likes Aquaphor and Badger Balm, which are basically jazzed-up petroleum jelly and olive oil/beeswax respectively.

The real trick, I think, is to keep it consistently covered with balm/lotion of whatever sort.

Oh, just say it: “Bag Balm.”

I’ve heard that Aquaphor is very good.

Have you tried wearing pants? Sorry, I thought I had a pretty good imagination, but I’m having trouble connecting a broken down pillow to dry butt skin…

Seconded. I’ve never found anything better for moisturizing. I don’t have eczema but my hands and elbow get quite dry and a bit cracky in the winter.

I’ll throw in for Climb On Creme. The line of lotions from Gold Bond are pretty good, too.
