I pay a lot for rent. But, I’m glad I moved into this apartment building. There’s nothing like walking down to the 3rd floor resident lounge and enjoying the complementary coffee. Regardless if it’s a warm morning and I enjoy it outside on the patio or it’s a cold winter morning and I sit next to the fireplace. The mornings are even more perfect when there’s no one else in the lounge and I change the background music to the Music Choice classical music station. ---

It varies through out the year for me. Right now it’s when I’m in bed and right at that spot between awake and sleep and I realize Im going to actually get to sleep. It’s even better if I know I’m getting four or more hours of sleep. The rest of the time it’s when I pull into the driveway and shut the car off. All the days tensions slough off, and I feel my body relax knowing I’m done doing and going for the day. ---

For me, it’s the time when I’ve completed one of my art works. I always stand back and look at it with the feeling “Wow! I did that!” And its corollary, “I’m the kind of person who can do things like that.” ---

It’s a tie, I think. - Coming home from work and immediately (after greeting the dog, of course) removing the bra and changing into comfortable clothes. - Waking up on a Saturday morning and having a leisurely pot of good coffee (not office swill) and snuggling with aforementioned dog. ---

Well dang, y’all have made me realize that I have a lot of good moments in my days. I like the cat on my lap during my first cup of coffee, putting on makeup, listening to music as I drive to work, cuddling of dogs, first glass of evening wine, stroking of pasture pets, getting into bed… But I’ll post the one I first thought of: Getting to work as early as possible and going into an empty office to read. ---

Six days a week I get up, get ready, walk to 7-11 for a coffee refill, and then go to the nearby bus stop, sip coffee and wait for the bus to get to work. That’s the moment. Not only am I able and have the resources to do all that, but I myself am a person who can and does do all that, knowing I can and will deal with whatever happens that day. ---
