My cat’s name is Frodo; he is commonly known as “Stop That!” when he is scratching where he shouldn’t; trying to walk on the keyboard, or bothering the other cat. He is also known as Frodo the Dodo; or on the (rare) occasions where he is being cuddly, the Frodo-buddy. My other cat is Remi. My stepdaughter (whose cat she was originally) calls her Remster; I don’t think that fits her. Remi is a sweetheart who has the cutest purr; I quite unoriginally call her “Sweetie”. However Remi is constantly changing her mind as to whether she wants to be known as Princess or Empress. ---

I had a Remy. She was also known as Puppy Tail. Her tail was thin as a whip and when she got excited, it could knock things off the coffee table. ---

Diamond Lili Bastet. She has long tall legs and a whip tail, but “Legs” seemed like a very undignified name for someone so regal. So I stole the nickname from Jack “Legs” Diamond, Prohibition era gangster. Also suitable since she is coal black and my personal gem. Lili after Madeline Kahn’s character Lili von Schtupp in Blazing Saddles; when Harvey Korman is fawning lustily over her in one scene he says “Oh legs, Lili, legs, Lili legs”. Bastet because she may as well be the incarnation of the ancient Egyptian cat goddess. ---

@jayjay and @wilson - my profound thanks for reminding me of the word “empress.” It’s actually a much better fit for my cat Zoey than “princess.” Henceforth her full title is “Zoey, the Evil Empress.” ---

Our cat would tell you her name is Sadie Mae, Destroyer of Mousies. However, it’s obvious when you meet her that her name is Meepster Chunkybutt (after her piercing meow and disproportionately large behind). ---

Many years ago, completely against my dad’s wishes, my mom and I brought home a tiny ball of fluff from the shelter. While we were standing in line to do the paperwork, she flooped over my shoulder, purring away. I did squats, jogged, even a few jumping jacks… and nothing but floopy purrs. I had just watched _Weekend at Bernies_ a few days prior. So, she became Bernestine C Pussycat. Her frenemy, brought in by my ex, was Cleo, aka Cleopatra C Pussycat. The next cat came to us with the name Fluffy. After quickly discovering her propensity for being in places where she was not supposed to be, she became [Lucy](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jb77H1gf3YI), which morphed into Lucifer C Pussycat.
