Did Scorpius figure into this argument at all?

> Whether the GI Joe episode in which the Joes were transported to an giant gold Egyptian space ankh and sacrified themselves to save each other was really a subtle commentary on Judeo-Christian faith and nihilism, or a covert attempt by the writers to turn children into demoralized consumers, or just the same 22 minutes of claptrap slapped together to get another episode out the door.

\<geeky\>

You MUST be talking about the DIC episodes, and not the Marvel/Sunbow ones, because Sunbow never wrote anything _that_ stupid.

Oh, joy. Divine approval! I’ll just hold off on the dithyrambs until after the play then, shall I?

As to the OP topic, I’ve had epic debates over divine foreknowledge and the nature of free will; whether God has a soul; whether any absolute standards of beauty, goodness, or truth exist in the mind of Man.

But that was back in my carefree student days when I had nothing better to do.

Just last week, though, I nearly got into a knock-down-drag-out about whether a hollow glass arrow, magically strengthened to withstand the strain of being fired from a long bow and filled with a potion of cure light wounds would cause enough damage to kill its target before the potion could take effect.

Two pages of **Batmobile vs Mach 5** and no one said “Batmobile…if it’s prepared”?

I’m so disapointed.

Nope, it was definately the original Sunbow series. I remember it too…Flint called Anubis “Dogface,” and got dumped in the Nile. You just don’t forget a thing like that.

I had an argument once over the date and location of the worst tornado in American history.

Oh, yeah. I kept using Scorpy as an example. We got down and dirty with this argument - and now that Peacekeeper Wars is coming up, we’re both bringing it up again.

> Is it possible to gut-load an innocent bystander with holy water and feed them to a vampire? If so, is this _inevitably_ an evil act?

A simpler way is get drunk from Consecrated Wine & then feed a vampire. Before the vampire can kill the host, the Wine gets to it & BLAM!
I refer you to Jeffrey Sackett’s novel BLOOD OF THE IMPALER, a fine prequel/sequel to Stoker’s DRACULA & woefully out of print.

I occasionally trot this out as a stereotypical geek discussion only to have it usually develop into a real geek discussion-

Grampa Munster- just a Dracula or THE Dracula?

and- why is his last name Munster as that name belongs to his son-in-law Herman? Just because Immigration stuck that on all the family?

It never really goes into argument-status because we all agree on - a Dracula and, yeah- Immigration did it.

Ok, I did not actually participate in this but…

Almost exactly a month ago I was at the bar with a girl friend and ran into some very inebriated friends of mine. They left early and while waiting for a cab outside started arguing with another drunk patron about physics (both my buddy and this other guy were physics majors). Well, this argument quickly turned physical and ended with my buddy attempting to kick the guy in the head, instead missing and smashing my other buddy, who was holding the guy, square in the forehead; the bouncers quickly broke it up afterwards. Needless to say, that is both the geekiest and stupidest argument/fight I have ever been associated with.

A friend and I once got embroiled in that most stereotypical of all geek discussions, the Balrog wing debate. We both agreed that yes, the text indicates that Balrogs probably _do_ have wings – where we differed was whether or not they can fly. That one still comes up every so often…

Just last night, **store-clerk-slacker** and I argued over whether or not Spider-Man (my fvorite super-hero) could beat up Wonder Woman (her favorite super-hero).

I don’t know if that’s the geekiest argument I ever had, but it’s the most recent in a long line of geeky arguments (most of which center around which super heroes Spider-Man can beat up).
