For some reasons I searched on Google “Curtis LeMay Straight Dope Message Board”, one of the results I got was a thread on Giraffe Board entitled the “Most Annoying SDMB Poster”. So what’s that forum all about anyways? ---

It’s a spin-off board started by former Pit moderator **Giraffe** last year in the wake of an unpopular set of new rules here. ETA - The SDMB was gracious about it and even let **Giraffe** publicize it here. ---

I liked the **Giraffe** board and spent some time there in the beginning, but the Dope’s superior numbers and greater activity kept me here for the most part and eventually I stopped going there. **Giraffe** did a great job with it, IMO, but it just never developed the horsepower we have here. ---

I think I may have registered over there after a couple of sodey pops one night. And then I think I may have checked back after a couple of weeks, and none of the threads on the front page of any forum had changed. I need more traffic than thah in muh messij bordz (but the much advertised “less AIDS” benefit of the Giraffe board was nice). ---

I like both boards for different reasons, GB is quite a bit more relaxed and fun, but as you said, it just doesn’t quite have the numbers that the Dope does. I still post here plenty, especially when it’s a need answer fast type question or when it’s something overly technical since a lot of threads quickly dissolve into inside jokes, non-sequitors and general giddiness. Unless of course it’s a computer question, then we got 7 or whatever his name is today. ETA Oh, and legal and medical type questions are kosher over there.
