Jaws
has to be seen on the big screen for full effect. Scared the crap out of me back then.
Carrie is a close second.
The Apple Dumpling Gang
By no means would I elevate The Driver (1978)to “greatest movie of the 70’s” but I watched it last night on one of those heavy-with-commercials bleep-out-the-fun-words channels and tend to agree with Rotten Tomatoes on its overall effect and value. I don’t think it deserves its own thread, but I would like to know if others share my opinion of it as an above average flick.
Ryan O’Neal atoning for the Love Story image and Bruce Dern being the quintessential asshole. Excellent driving stunts and effects. Rivals Bullitt in some respects and even has a few nods to the McQueen version of The Getaway. Not a total waste of 2 hours.
Anybody else know it and like it?
