From Good Will Hunting: “Why?” “'Cause fuck him, that’s why.” I always liked Robert Duvall’s cow speech in Colors but I can’t find it anywhere online and I don’t want to mess it up. Ditto with Mark’s speech before he leaves Salt Lake City in SLC Punk. He says something along the lines of “cars, people, houses, what else do you think is out there?” Kind of gives me chills. I would appreciate it if anyone has these exact quotes and posts them. ---

God damn it. An entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables…slaves with white collars. Advertising has its taste in cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, no purpose or place. We have no great war, no great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war; our great depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. We’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off. ---

I dunno; _Casablanca_ has always had my vote for greatest movie of all time, but it doesn’t have much in the way of inspirational quotes – the many memorable lines are mostly witty ones. But inspirational scenes? Oh yeah – “Paris has fallen”; _Die Wacht am Rhein_; _La Marseillaise_. Tears and chills, baby. ---
