They forecast a big storm with lots of rain, after several days of blistering temps and crazy humidity. And farmers screaming for rain! It danced right by us, just skirting the city. ( Left me with a terrible headache too!) ---

Complained about a McDonald’s on the corporate website about a week ago. I only rarely go there, as it is a bit out of the way, and only for breakfast. But pretty much every time I’ve gone there, I order a meal, get to the window and they hand me a bag with only the sandwich and walk away. I have to get their attention or wait for them to come back, then ask for the rest of the meal. This time I watched them do the same damned thing to two of the three cars in front of me. The other one got only coffee. Then of course, they did it to me. Came back and asked if I ordered the meal. Yup. Second time had the the sandwich and hash browns, then walked away. Practically burned her to the ground with my look and then she came back and remembered the drink. So my complaint to corporate wasn’t very nice and suggested that the employees there needed remedial training in READING THE FUCKING ORDER. And just won’t bother going there anymore. ---

The case of the disappearing waitress. We stopped at a Perkins for breakfast before the Johnstown Flood City Music Festival Saturday. We had time to kill, so the slow service just let us linger over our coffee. But the check _never came_. Never. We watched for our waitress, but she had disappeared. We joked about ordering lunch. Eventually the manager stopped by (probably wondering who these people refusing to leave were) and she apologized profusely. Our waitress’ shift was over and she had clocked out a while ago. She comped the meal for us, but I still left our waitress a tip. Right up until disappearing she was very sweet. ---

Most of my complaining is internal or just a bewildered frustration. Confrontation doesn’t seem to help. I think the most recent is when my neighbours last had a drunken singing session, which was yesterday afternoon.
