> There are girls or women who respond to this? Where? When? Letters in Penthouse Forum do NOT count. Not once in my fifty years plus as female, not even at our super-secret slumber parties where we have pillow fights in our baby-doll jammies, have I ever heard a single female say “This guy in a car yelled ‘Nice tits!’ as I was walking up. I hope I get to meet him soon.” Well, one or two might have expressed a wish that he’d show his creepy face long enough for her to bash it in, but I doubt that’s the attention you mean.

This type of posts are always amusing to me. If it hasn’t happened to me or my friends then it must not happen. Or me and my friends don’t do that so nobody does. Especially in threads like this. I think very few people are completely honest with their friends, and those that are only do so with a select few.

[Speaking anecdotally here]

What boggles my mind is the women who protested the loudest: “Screw that noise! He’s an asshole! I would NEVER hook up with him!” would be the exact women my friend that I spoke of in my earlier post would bang.
And the quieter ones who seemed indifferent to the guy. Never hooked up with him.

It used to drive me crazy when I was younger.

I don’t catcall but I’ve made comments very sparsely every now and then to a random woman like say a cashier, I’ve said something like wow you have a beautiful smile or something like that, but I don’t think that’s a really overtly sexual thing to say. I’m sure there are some women somewhere that might get offended by even a benign comment like that which is why 99.9% of the time I override my impulse to say anything at all.

There is a qualitative difference between including a complimentary remark in an ongoing - if brief - interaction and randomly shouting “nice tits” at random passing women. There’s an argument to be made that complimenting a cashier/waitress/captive public service worker can be inappropriate and can be really obnoxious under certain circumstances, but there’s a whole lot more grey and it can in fact be perfectly appropriate behavior.

There are no circumstances when catcalling is appropriate behavior. It’s basically always a douche move - even if it’s a douche move that periodically succeeds (in whatever small percentage of times) in getting the catcaller laid.

I suppose the logic is that if you say “Who want to sex Motombu!?” to enough women and some non-zero percentage say “yes”, it doesn’t matter if the rest of them think you’re a jerk.

There’s nothing wrong with that. That’s simply “trying to get laid”.

> My guesses are: (1) Resting bitch-face; she wasn’t intentionally giving him the stink-eye but just looked like it; or (2) I’ve heard/read safety advice to women to project a “don’t f\*ck with me” attitude while walking, in an effort to prevent trouble before it happens, and the stink-eye was that woman’s interpretation.

Women instinctively develop “bitch face” because some men will interpret the slightest hint of interest as an invitation to hit on them.
