A thousand times yes. I was asked to photograph a house party years ago and the client was hoping I’d give a discount because the singer of The Plain White Tees would be performing. First, like I care and haven’t photographed all sorts of public figures before. Second, I really really wanted to say I should be charging you more to sit through that dreck. ---

Compare Uptown Funk to Get Lucky by Daft Punk. Both songs are similar, but Get Lucky WAS produced like “disco, funk or old school techno”, unlike Uptown Funk’s more “contemporary fashion”. It’s like both songs tried to get the same results through different routes. Uptown Funk was an annoying wreck while Get Lucky was quite excellent in comparison. ---

I always found “Antarctica” by Men Without Hats to be like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. I liked most of the rest of the album. ---

It’s funny … because I have that album (“Rhythm of You”) as well … and I listen to it reasonably regularly. And I thought I was the only person in the world who had it. There’s nothing I find particularly more annoying about that song than any other song on the album. It’s all the same vibe. ---
