A friend of mine has a deep, deep voice and the most lovely Welsh accent imaginable. That is the most attractive accent ever. _swoon_ Though there’s this fellow I talk to on the phone at work. He’s a customer, and he hails from Texarkana, and I tell you what–that man could look like a pug dog and smell worse, but I wouldn’t kick him outta bed for eating crackers. Julie ---

It’s all good. Mostly. I really feel like we’re being mean to all the Asian-Americans with accents, but I have to agree–not sexy. I think it’s partially 'cause you often have to work so hard to understand the speech. And Aussie is very cool, but when I hear an Aussie accent, I think more “pal” and less “hottie.” Indian is also attractive, but not in a sexy way. Tops: English (especially Liverpudlian) Irish Scottish (Sean Connery may be 183, but he is still hot) Italian (not too thick) Spanish French (sometimes) Good ol’ boy drawl (sometimes) I’m sure there are some I’m forgetting … NEW ONE: The other day, we stopped into a little Turkish/Greek market for some groceries, and I heard my first Turkish accent. Oh. My. God. I’ve been trying to use up that olive oil really fast so that I can go back just to hear him talk again. ---

My husband is from Switzerland, so I’m legally required to say I love Swiss accents. But Dutch are pretty good, as are Italian. But I’ve gotta go for Australian hands down. ---

Irish/Scottish/Spanish/Russian/French. Not in that order though. I’m not sure in what order. Spanish would probably be on top… or maybe Irish… ---

Thank you, **everton**. I have once and for all committed this to memory. I’m ready to be quizzed at a moment’s notice. I even went and loaded up some British maps to reinforce the idea…again. British, that would be the UK minus Northern Ireland. See? You can teach an old dog… Thanks again! And now I will more correctly say, I like English accents best, with a side of Irish and Scottish. ---

Scouse first (like several other here I see) everything a Scouser says sounds damn good, Welsh (oh those sweet sing-songy buggers) then Scottish (Edinburgh). I love the way that even a word like murder sounds cool (like Taggart…yes I know he was Glaswegian) I think all those Aussie accent lovers should hear the classier Antipodean accent 😃 ---

Best accents: Scottish Irish Welsh Canadian Hungarian (for familiarity and hilarity. With a Hungarian accent, the phrase I drank wine in a vineyard becomes “I drank vine in a wineyard.”) Worst: U.S. southern drawl ---

Many of you will think I’m crazy, but my favorite accent is Nuyorican. I could listen to Rosie Perez all day long. I’ve seen some posters here refer to an “Asian accent”. What is that? A Japanese accent doesn’t sound like a Chinese accent, which doesn’t sound like an Indian accent, which doesn’t sound like a Filipino accent. ---

For it me its definately the french accent. I thought that was fairly universal thought of as sexy, but i guess not from this thread… All the merkins here liking english accents though… How much does a flight to the US cost these days anyway? 😃 ---
