How about _Super Troopers_? The first time we watched it, my wife suggested it was too dumb to keep watching. Before it was over, she laughed so hard she actually and literally fell off the couch. ---

I’m thrilled that I get to be the first to mention the shimmering, golden turd that is [_Battleship_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1440129/). Saw it with my best buddy, and we were both in stitches throughout. Even though the theatre was nearly empty, it was plenty loud with hoots and cheers. The [scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7XbH3iz734) where the WW2 vets are standing tall on the deck and guns of the [Mighty Mo’](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Missouri_%28BB-63%29), and then it segues into AC/DC’s _Thunderstruck_ surprisingly drew a pumped fist and a loud, genuinely appreciative “Fuck yeah!” out of me. I’ve seen hundreds of movies in the cinema before, and I’ve never reacted anything like that to any other film, before or since. ---

I nominate _The Cape Canaveral Monsters_ for two reasons. The first is the way that the lady monster keeps complaining about having to sew the other’s arm back on. The second is all the semi-mountainous rocky badlands surrounding Cape Canaveral, where the monsters hole up in a cave. ---

I stuck it out as long as I could but at 45 minutes I’m convinced that this is the most insufferable piece of shit I’ve ever seen. The narration is so out of place and pointless that this flick would be better on mute. Rotten Tomatoes rating of 19% is generous. ---

The Naked Gun trilogy. Endless dumb jokes and cringeworthy lewdness elevated by a phenomenally skilled comedic cast that absolutely threw themselves into every scene. Best of all, they made sure to spread the wealth. It was never _just_ raunch, or _just_ slapstick, or _just_ insane stuntwork, or _just_ idiot balling; there never was a point where I said “dear lord, make it stop”.
