Nah, that gives jobs to the people who stand outside the clinics.
Yes, I’m aware that they have made contributions to car safety and helped improve fuel consumption. However, there is no reason to believe that those improvements wouldn’t have been made in due time nor does it change the fact that the entertainment value of automotive sports is completely dependent on burning gas for no appreciable purpose.
I’m not surprised that entire US population burns as much fuel as quickly, but they are using it to get to work, buy groceries, pick up the kids, etc.
I have nothing against automotive sports and like to watch F1 racing when I actually get coverage, but the actual act of driving a car around in an enclosed loop just to be faster than the other guys and girls doing the same thing is pretty wasteful.
