Oh god yes! I know that feeling! Even though I haven’t put eardrops in my ear for ages I can still remember exactly what it feels like.

That is the Vagus nerve. Mine was irritated by a small piece of hair after getting a haircut. The result was 16 hours of hic-coughing. It is also the time that I realized why there is a Ears, Nose and Throat medical specialist.
