I’ve seen references to this online, but I can’t find anything that really defines what it is. It is baseball related…but what exactly is it?

A “hot stove league” refers to discussions about baseball in the off-season. The idea is that people would sit around a hot stove in a bar talking about their team’s chances.

New York Professional Baseball Hot Stove League seems to be [a yearly dinner](http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/whereskernan/item_Mbc1c6XE1TfJSQHxQZaNoN#axzz2HixZPPAG) run by professional baseball scouts in the NYC area.
