# What is the oldest zombie in SD?

X-posted, by mistake, to **[The oldest question answered by the SDMB?](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=21039193)**. [My Voodoo](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=792572) on moths today the oldest (known) zombie? 19 years.

Couldn’t find a corpse OP on this topic just now, but if anyone knows that this was asked previously, maybe I’ll zombie _that_ one.

It just occurred to me: Can vB be juiced for a simple date compare-and-subtract to find this out? More interested in how vB works for this one.

The oldest extant thread (#2\*) is the classic

This was zombied as recently as 2014 but is now closed.

I am not sure what exactly you mean by “oldest zombie”? The oldest thread that has been zombied? The thread that existed for the longest time before it was zombied?

If you are just looking for the oldest thread that has been bumped, you could just go through threads one by one from the beginning.

\*There is a thread #1, but it is from 2000, evidently due to thread numbers being scrambled.

The latter.

I can see an amusing debate between two zombies exactly on that very question: “OK, you’re so ‘old,’ but you had a vitalizing refresher just a few years ago. I’ve mouldered longer than you have.”

Sort of like who can hold their breath the longest, if they breathed.
