You don’t want to look shellfish, **Eva**. Plus, isn’t it messy? What if I leaned over and wiped my mouth on her puffy sleeves? Even with my pinky finger extended, it would ensure no second date. ---

Y’know, I prefer not to be cracked open with a mallet and have my flesh plucked out from my insides, but maybe that’s just me, **handy**. My wife and I had as our first meal together Eggplant Parmesan, cooked by my brother, served with cheap red wine. Tres romantique. Our first date-meal together? Breakfast. 🙂 Daniel ---

Spaghetti and meatballs served in the alley. You could scoot the meatball over to her with your nose…and then you and she could slurp up the same spaghetti noodle and accidentally kiss. ---

A picnic lunch. Bring the fixin’s in a basket with a blanket/tablecloth an let the meal include the assembling to your own preferences. A half loaf of fresh baked bread, sliced or crusty rolls A yummy chilled chicken salad with grapes and almonds and some sliced roasted turkey Chilled Fresh fruit with poppy seed dressing Chilled Tortellini salad a small assortment of cheeses, crackers and summer sausage S’more brownies and homemade oatmeal cookies and Lemonade ---

I think it all depends on how much you want to spend and how much romantic you want to be. Personally, if I wanted to impress but not spend too much, I would find a great dessert place. Nothing works better than chocolate to get to a girls heart. I had a friend of mine take a girl to a very fancy restaurant on their first date. Very remantic place, very impressive. And then he wanted to stop off at a bar because his friend was having a bachelor party there. Needless to say, she never called him back. But I hit him in the head. ---

I like fondue – it’s fun, it’s different, and it gives you something to do while you talk, so you’re not just sitting there in awkward silence (if that’s the case), and it takes a while. The only problem with this is that if you’re really not hitting it off, it still takes a while. And it’s usually kind of expensive, if you go to a fondue restaurant. But, there’s always the whole fondue-party-foul game, with the kissing. That could be good. 🙂 ---
