# What is the point of political yard signs?

I live in a suburb that tends slightly blue, right next to a suburb that tends slightly red. Around here, there are relatively few signs endorsing _any_ candidate. The issue here is the proposed constitutional amendment to legalize abortion in Missouri. On my block alone there are four houses with Amendment 3 signs, and I am the only house with a candidate sign (two actually, one for Harris, and one for the latest Democrat to challenge our six-term Republican Congressperson.) The pro and con ratio changes on every street, but the Amendment is clearly the hot button this year.

Just today, I saw that one of my neighbors had suddenly added a political yard sign. I also saw that said neighbor had just put up their Halloween decorations. I honestly can’t tell whether they’re doing this on purpose.
