# What is the Straight Dope on Raw Milk

Raw milk may not spoil faster than other milk, but raw milk can carry diseases that aren’t knocking around your kitchen. There aren’t tuberculosis germs in my kitchen, for instance. But if the cow is sick, her milk might carry whatever she’s sick with.

Also, lowering the initial number of germs extends how long the milk will keep unopened.
