When you don’t have utilities there is no need for utility workers 🙂 . But assuming electricity, potable water and sewage systems, computer networks, health care, etc., there will always be 24/7 workers. And not just a few of them - automation isn’t that good yet. ---

My dad tried to dissuade me from learning to type on an electric typewriter, back in 1974. He thought they were a flighty, newfangled invention and would soon disappear. He thought the only real way to type was on a manual. ---
