Taz is pretty much just a mouth with arms & legs, but there is some resemblance to a real Tasmanian Devil. Also, I’ve heard that Tasmanian Devils really are nasty, vicious little bastards just like Taz. As for the Animaniacs, they’re intentionally ambiguous. In the comic book universe that Duckville exists in, there seem to be three categories: people with a few token animal-like features, more heavily semi-animal sapients, and true animals. For example, Donald Duck and company would be in the middle category but in the comics you also see people who have duck bills but who are taller and much more anthropomorphic. You also see bird-beaked like Gyro Gearloose, the occasional pig-person, etc. The closest thing to a pure human are the people like the Beagle Boys who have floppy ears and a bulb nose, who are technically dog-derived but otherwise look completely human. Goofy would be either intermediate between categories one and two, or else simply an extraordinarily ugly and gawky type one. ---

And, anyways, while the title of the thread may be misleading, the OP seems to be more about animals that are completely unrecognizable. Live sponges may not look like SpongeBob, but anyone who sees him would know he’s supposed to be a sponge. BTW, I came here to mention Ren and Stimpy, but I see they’ve already been mentioned.
