How about getting a stepladder rather than a single step stool to trip the tops of the hedges? You might not need to switch the trimmer to the 90 degree angle configuration in that case.

I’ve got an extension pole and a tree trimming attachment for the power head that came with my string trimmer.

It came with a simple shoulder loop that loops over the opposite shoulder, such that if you have the powerhead at your right hip, the loop is over your right shoulder holding much of the weight.

Note… [apparently they make these as aftermarket items.](https://www.amazon.com/Eloptop-Shoulder-Universal-Compatible-Replacement/dp/B097JJH729/ref=pd_lpo_d_sccl_2/140-3549747-4864410?pd_rd_w=o6tx7&content-id=amzn1.sym.4c8c52db-06f8-4e42-8e56-912796f2ea6c&pf_rd_p=4c8c52db-06f8-4e42-8e56-912796f2ea6c&pf_rd_r=ZCB5CQPCVRP8201CP3G2&pd_rd_wg=8SvWU&pd_rd_r=90bdd7b5-5d95-4318-8cf8-19df81318b49&pd_rd_i=B097JJH729&th=1)

Thank you so much for this, it looks very interesting. It certainly is giving me ideas. It might prove much too long for me, but that’s a simple alteration to make.
