From the Bee Gees song “You Should Be Dancing” – what note is hit at 3:12-3:14?

From [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yAkkpbm_8E) video, it’s not really clear what you mean. Which note are you talking about?

In the linked version, I’m guessing it’s the note sung at ~2:56.

FWIW, [Wikipedia leads me to believe it’s Barry singing it.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Should_Be_Dancing)

I finally found an online keyboard I could use while listening to the video. To my very tin ear, it sounds like a G.

Do you have access to a piano? I’ve tried to figure out notes or chords by playing a couple of seconds of a song over and over.

G it is. Compare the first note of this Bach fugue in G minor. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHMJFhJNycM](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHMJFhJNycM)

Music questions tend to get more (and better) answers in the Cafe Society forum, so I’ve moved this thread there.

Yeah, that’s a G. G5, to be exact. Pretty high for a man, but that’s what makes the Bee Gees so awesome.

Okay, thanks very much. I thought it might be even higher than G5.

I have always been intrigued by falsetto voices. Barry Gibb may have
hit higher notes than this. I need to go through some more songs
and find out. He had an awesome range!

(And I do realize that a lot of people found his high falsetto extremely
annoying…)
