Thank you @Crane! What a beautiful, joyful and uplifting song! Even though I don’t understand more than a few words of Italian. ---

Here’s several clips of it, including a flash mob version at Reading Market in Philadelphia: > **[La traviata (4) - "Libiamo ne' lieti calici"](http://operaomniablog.blogspot.com/2011/04/la-traviata-4-libiamo-ne-lieti-calici.html)** > > Un blog sull'opera lirica And yes, it’s a joyful song, except for Ray Milland in _The Lost Weekend_. He goes to the opera as a distraction from drinking and almost loses it during the drinking scene: > **[Lost Weekend, The (1945) -- (Movie Clip) Just Rude I Guess](https://prod-www.tcm.com/video/373564/lost-weekend-the-1945-movie-clip-just-rude-i-guess)** > > In flashback, alcoholic Don (Ray Milland) recalls being at the opera where he first met future girlfriend Helen (Jane Wyman), in The Lost Weekend, 1945, directed by Billy Wilder from a script by Wilder and Charles Brackett. ---
