# What is wrong with my windows media player volume

I have a music video that i want to play. When i play it in winamp the volume is fine but the brightness is too low. since i dont know how to change brightness on winamp i tried opening it with windows media player, which has brightness controls.

The volume works fine on winamp but for some reason the volume seems set on 100% on WMP. Even when the volume is on 5% both on the speakers and the WM player i still get distortion like the volume is turned at 100% somewhere else.

Is there a specific volume control that controls WMP that isn’t the obvious volume control (the one below the timer)? i can’t find it but i want to turn it down to lessen the distortion.
