Even sparsely-populated areas might have a smaller brewery in their state to buy beer from. I’m not guaranteeing it by any means, but finding good beer is so much easier than it used to be, and more and more bars and liquor stores are stocking more beer than just the pale American lager (with cheap adjuncts like rice and corn added to the mix, typically) from the major commercial breweries. You’re not going to get a lot of our good beer overseas due to the expense and effort required from smaller breweries to ship beer there. ---

Anyone else think Sam Adams is going the way of Henry Weinhart’s? Like a macro microbrew. Maybe it’s just the Sam Adams we get here. I can’t drink it anymore… ---

Not only are there many more local breweries popping up, many of the former microbrews have gone national so that you can get their products just about anywhere. My favorite, for the last few years, has been the fantastic [Trois Pistoles](http://www.unibroue.com/products/3pistoles.cfm). Also, for those that haven’t seen the site, [Beer Advocate](http://www.beeradvocate.com/) has a wealth of information about thousands of beers from all over the world. Reviews are done by members but the information is searchable by anyone. ---

I dont’ drink very often so I am not a connoisseur by any means but when I do drink I drink Moosehead, Sleeman Honey Brown, or Stella Artois. ---

When at home I drink either Goldstar (a local brew, and damn fine) or Tuborg. In the U.S. neither are available so I drink Bass, which is close enough. ---

When I first had beer the only way I liked it was in pancakes. However, in the past 5 or 6 years I have come to a new conclusion… **I LOVE BEER!** I started with the typical Bud Light or Miller Light but then moved on to Rolling Rock. My favorite for the past few years has been Amberbock due mainly to taste but also availability. Sometimes I get lucky and my friends and I will go to our local pub [[http://www.baristascafe-pub.com/](http://www.baristascafe-pub.com/)] where they occasionally carry on tap 😃 my favorite Great Lakes beers; Dortmunder Gold and Moondog Ale [[www.greatlakesbeer.com/](http://www.greatlakesbeer.com/)]. I think I might have to skip work tonite and have one or two (or ten) of these delicious brews. ---

Well, I loves me a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. There’s also a wood-fired pizza place/microbrewery close to here that features some damned fine brews (on any given night, you can get six 5-ounce glasses in The Sampler for a measly four bucks). However, given that our budget is tight, and my urologist recommends two to three beers a day for optimal kidney health, what’s usually in my fridge in Yuengling. I find it’s a good compromise of good flavor and affordability. ---

My brew of choice is Yuengling, which sadly I can no longer drink since i moved to the midwest. My staples would be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Guinness and Grolsch. My current favorites aside from that are: Capitol Brewery’s Capitol Amber Ale Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale Lake Louie Pale Ale New Glarus Spotted Cow (although the Uff-Da is pretty darn good, too) Weihenstephan Weiss I’ve also got a soft spot for Franziskaner Hefeweiss. \ Hey, **Bottle of Smoke** - i assume from your comments that you’re somewhere around Madison. We should start talking about a Mad Dope Beer Fest! I know **Althea** and I are in, and maybe we can convince **Otto** and **Boyo Jim** to join us! \ ---

When we lived in Colorado, it was **Fat Tire** by New Belgium. But we can’t get it here in Kentucky, so we like another Colorado beer we can get: **Old Scratch** by Flying Dog. We’ve also developed a tase for Red Hook’s Blonde when we’re more into quantity drinking… or our old standbyes, **Bass, Anchor Steam** , or **Newcastle** (depending on mood and weather).
