What is the one drink you place above all others, the one drink you couldn’t (or would much rather not) go without? Your favorite drink. For poll purposes I am only listing major categories. Choose the main component; you may name a specific drink in a post if it involves mixing. ---

This is easy for me, beer. Not only is it quaffable in large quantities, but it has the widest range of flavors of all the alcoholic beverages listed. I could never get sick of beer. ---

I wouldn’t drink anything exclusively, but I would prefer red wine. Though not all reds. ---

I’m a bourbon guy…but not a purist. I mix with Coke (or other cola-like product). Am surprised no one has voted for Prohibition yet. Figure someone will do it just to be a smartass. ---

Beer, really don’t like the taste of wine or liquor. Anchor Steam is my always-in-the-fridge beer plus trips to BevMo for single bottles of different beers to try. ---

I really can’t stand most beer. I’ve been able to tolerate wheat beers and even find them more or less enjoyable, but it’s a lot of work to do so. On the other hand, I _really_ like Captain and Coke, margaritas, and most other hard liquors either neat or straight up. ---

Irish, please. I like Tullamore Dew 12 year old Special Reserve when I can get it, but I’ll gladly take Tully regular in a chilled glass(no ice!). ---

I drink beer in the largest quantity, but I could leave it behind. If I had to. I had to think for a moment between bourbon and tequila. I went with tequila because I’m willing to pay [$70+ for my favorite bottle](http://www.wallywine.com/p-55626-chamucos-tequila-anejo-750ml.aspx?affiliateid=10098) and rarely, if ever, spend $40 or more on bourbon. I can’t appreciate the subtleties as well and tend to mix it more often. Also, I feel strongly that different liquors, and beers of different brewing styles, have different effects on the drinker. I love the way tequila makes me feel and I’m yet to regret any decisions made under it’s influence. ---

I picked brandy/cognac, although I actually drink armangac. That’s the one bottle I almost always have at home, although I always have a bottle of wine or twenty in my closet at home as well. That said, I could live without it, or any drinks, but prefer armangac/cognac, single malt scotches, bourbons, red wine, good port and beer. Which I prefer is usually a function of my mood and the occasion. ---
