See if you agree with the casting of the new X-Men _live-action_ movie coming out: [http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120903](http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120903) Were the women picked for their acting abilities or because they look good in a super-hero suit? (Halle Berry as Storm… I would’ve cast Iman. She’s from Africa as Storm is, so she wouldn’t have to learn a new accent. Or did they re-write Storm as an American? Maybe Halle Berry can do accents… Hmmmmmm…)

The latter, for sure. I mean: Anna Paquin as Rogue…puhleeze. And Rebecca Stamos as Mystique…you really need somebody like Faye Dunaway in that part, not a supermodel cum actress…Yeah I realize it’s only a super hero movie but that does not preclude doing it right. After all, they got two really good actors for the male leads…

As a Grendel fan, my face is red. I should’ve picked Christine Spar.

Funny, my two superheroine picks have the nasty habit of dying. Maybe I should reconsider my choices…

**Without a doubt** , the best comic-book heroine is **Laureline** , from the series _Valérian, agent spatio-temporel_. Valerian is the nominal hero of the series, but he’s a bumbling, well-meaning idiot, and Laureline has to go rescue him almost every time. She is the intelligence and he’s the brawn. All-in-all, she is the best combination of brains and beauty that I’ve encountered in comic bookdom.

Just before I quit collecting, Dark Horse Comics came out with several new books. One of these was [Ghost](http://www.darkhorse.com/news/previews/pg_profile/sku_48608/ZOOM_1/). I only read the first couple of issues, but I liked her a lot.

Of course, there’s also “Omaha, Cat-Dancer”. I’d put up a link, but there might be young’uns around.

wow, I was gonna say “without a doubt.”
Strange.
Anyway, the baddest ass chic is defintely
FAKK 2, but she isn’t my favorite.
I think Sarah Pezzini, current weilder of the Witchblade is the baddest all around babe of all. Rougue has always been one of my favorites too. Ladydeath is cool, and so is Elektra.
There are so many it’s hard to decide, but Witchblade is the best.
Noonch.

You’re right.

Look at this and see if you’re as disappointed as I am by the all-black costumes for the new X-Men movie: [http://countingdown.com/x-men/news/news\_0122e.htm](http://countingdown.com/x-men/news/news_0122e.htm)

No pictures of Halle Berry as Storm, though. ☹
