In the Al Capp/Lockheed tradition, I’d like to run a Skunk Works. I’ve had the opportunity to do a little one-off design, machining and manufacturing, and I’d like to become the guy that people call after they ask “How in the hell are we going to make that?” Alternately, set design and stage carpentry would be cool, _“building drama, with lightbulbs, hammer and nails.”_ ---

I owned and operated a movie theatre for a while and had some bands play there. (Chainsaw Kittens, Smashing Pumpkins, and another one that started with F? and almost the Flaming Lips) It’s really tough but I did like it alot. My idea of a cool job would photographer for Playboy. ---

I want to be the person who applies Mystique’s costume in the X-Men movies. It’s painted on. Everywhere. And it’s done _every day, for weeks_. _sigh_ Not that computer programming isn’t a rewarding, exciting, fun-filled adventure, every day of the week. ---

I always wanted to be a bush pilot. I could drop supplies off to indigenous tribes and hunters and maybe even occasionally save a life by ferrying someone to a hospital hundreds of miles away. Every day would be an adventure and a series of life-threatening near misses. ---

Ok, folks, it’s a lame joke two-fer off of \*\* Shagnasty\*\*'s dream of being a bush pilot: “Wow, I didn’t realize that there was such a need for shrubbery that people would pay to fly it in.” AND “It probably takes YEARS of training before they let you fly Air Force One.” Also, I can’t believe no one’s said tax lawyer yet. I get to read the tax code and regs all day. And they even pay me, too! ---

I would absolutely love to be an actress. My idea of the absolute best part to play as an actress would be in a historical fiction as a Ruling Queen. I absolutely love history. Barring that career, I think I’ll go into law. ---

I honestly think that any job you have that you are enthusiastic about doing is a cool job. I truly envy anyone who’s doing a job that they are fulfilled by. That’s why I masturbate caged animals for artificial insemination. Okay, actually, I don’t. I’m so burned out on grad school that I hate my job, even though it _should_ be the coolest job in the world. I’m a scientist, damn it! That _should_ rock, shouldn’t it? Instead, it’s just boring and hard. ☹ Luckily, in two weeks I start teaching, which is something I enjoy a great deal. Yay! I’m hoping that after I get a little break, I’ll be able to return to research refreshed, get a new project, and get back to doing the coolest job in the world. ---
