LA Confidential Brilliant atmosphere, excellent dialogue. An intriguing convoluted plot that makes sense at resolution on first viewing, but you’ll always see \*something \*you missed last time. ---

That’s easy. It’s been my one favorite film since I first saw it in the theater. Quirky when Wes Anderson was still a teenybopper, warm without being sappy, some of the most gorgeous scenery imaginable, and a Mark Knopfler soundtrack. Even though it’s a bit like saying that your favourite painting is the Mona Lisa, nonetheless if a gun is put to my head, _Citizen Kane_ is my all time favourite film. Just the most beautiful, quotable, wonderfully acted, gorgeously scored film ever. ---
