I’ve just found out about an attempt by users of this message board to “infiltrate” the Left Behind Message Board which I administer. I would like to know what your problem is.
Did you know we have twice the number of members you do? Perhaps I should send them here and have them register for accounts to preach to you. Would you like that?

My dictionary defines ‘rebuke’ thusly: to blame or scold in a sharp way; reprimand.
Sounds suspiciously like revenge to me, which is defined: to inflict damage, injury, or punishment.
If you require any additional definitions, I would be more than happy to oblige.

**mbagnall** , I am on record as having questioned the appropriateness of the actions of some posters from this MB when they visted LeftBehind.
On the other hand, I visited your board a few times and noticed that the visitors from this board limited their posts to the appropriate forums and engaged in polite discussions that confined themselves to the Topics to which they were posting. They did nothing which could be called disruptive that I ever saw.
On the other hand, I have seen the “good” members of your board insult other people with the epithet “satanist,” condemn other people who did not share their exact beliefs to eternal damnation, and call any number of non-fundie Christian religions cults without any “moderating” action by you and your fellows.
I have seen very courteous discussions between Christians and Jews sidetracked by anti-semitic catcalls without any contribution by you. I have seen a couple of polite discussions between Cristians and Jews shut down by an innapropriate series of one-line responses to max out the topic at 75 posts. When a Christian asked why that was done (and the multi-poster not admonished), you shut down that topic and demanded that no one bring up the subject again.
I have watched you “moderators” destroy threads and then lie to say that they were old or they disappeared in a computer accident.
So, on the one hand we have some posters from here who brought a different perspective to ongoing discussions, there.
On the other hand, we have a bunch of people there who engage in hatred and calumny and who are supported in their very unChristian activities by board moderators who are afraid that the Word of God cannot stand on its own and must be defended by subterfuge and deceit and who are willing to lie about their own actions to defend themselves.
When you clowns return to including “Thou shalt not bear false witness” with the other Commandments, get back to us. As a Christian, I am always horrified by the practioners of the Nine Commandments religion.

I had questioned the “visits” too, but I believe I recall David explaining that their purpose wasn’t to harass, but to edify.
I guess I should say for the record that I’m a Christian, but so far, I don’t identify too much with y’all.

UncleBeer, we are not taking revenge, we are defending ourself. A christian has a responsibility to preach his faith and when one attacks that right we are allowed to defend ourself. Its not revenge it is justice.

Well said, Tom. I, too, had some reservations when some of the Dopers started talking about participating in the Left Behind board. It didn’t strike me as either fair or nice to go and harass them. But then I took a look at the L.B. board and what the Dopers were doing, and I did not see a problem. I saw Dopers doing there exactly what we do here—asking questions. The difference, however, was that while I saw Dopers behaving themselves, I witnessed (hee, hee) much name calling and unsavoury behaviour on the part of the L.B.er’s. I found it amusing that the message of peace and love seemed to apply to only whose who agreed with them.
It was also disheartening to me to see a group of people who claim to have so much understanding of god to be completely incapable of discussing same in any sort of rational fashion.
That they now want to come and seek some sort of revenge by attempting to disrupt the SDMB is both the saddest and funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
No offense intended toward the many rational, kind and honest Christians I know, but Christians like those who have recently joined us are really giving Jesus a bad name.

No, I find that extremely hard to believe. Defending yourselves (note the plural) would entail the initiation of a thread or two and raising salient points for debate. Or possibly posting you views in an existing thread. What I see here is outright retribution evidenced by starting 10 threads inside of 20 minutes. Not only that, but there is the implied threat by Archangel and mbagnall to disrupt this message board. I don’t see how anyone, even the truly naïve, could interpret this as “defending ourself.” If defense is your true aim, start a topic and we’ll be debate it. What you have done is show yourselves to be capable of taking the low road, a heinous path for those who seem to believe themselves to be righteous.
I also like the way you have entered your profile information. I won’t touch on the physical threats you have included, but I will comment on your occupation:
