Here’s my Hollywood theory: A new hitman is in town and looking to score big jobs. He tells his potential client to watch the news media for a string of killings in a certain area. I’d say he qualifies for the job. OR One of the slayings is actually a contract hit. The other 4 or 6 are random killings to throw the scent off the fact that the 3rd (or 4th or whatever) person killed was actually an assasination. Pretty wack, eh? P.S. I like the hunter from the future idea. That would explain why there is no link between the victims; the link won’t/wouldn’t happen until sometime in the future. But now that’s not possible (cuz they’re dead, see), which means they don’t need to be killed, but then they all might have something in common later on, and then they… oh hell with it. ---

It’s a warning from the RIAA. The only thing all those people had in common was that they were all “pirating” music on the “internet.” If only that poor little schoolchild hadn’t wanted that Barney song so badly without having the money to pay for it… ---

With the acurracy of the hits, it’s most likely another ex-mililtary man gone wacko. He obvioulsy knows how to use the weapon, and it’s not like military personel haven’t been known to snap (what was it, three husbands that killed their wives on the same base recently). Hmmm, now that I think about it, there was a story a while back about a man at Camp X-Ray that went missing…they found his clothes outside the fence and speculated that he drowned cliff diving, but his wife said he was scared of hights and hated the water…hmmmm… What I find funny is that we recently ran a story where they brought up the question perhaps this has some occult connection. We then showed a map of the area with little dots representing where the killings have taken place, then they superimposed a pentagram on the map…not a single fucking murder was anywhere in the design. It amazes me how desperate some people get when it comes to grasping at straws. ---

Accuracy? Not if he’s using a rifle - a torso shot at 100 yds. does not bespeak get markmanship. If he is using a handgun with a 5" barrel, I’ll be impressed. He does, however, know how police work. ---

**Michael Ellis** : great reference. On Fark people have beaten to death “Full Metal Jacket” and “The Jerk”, but I’ve only seen a couple “eromitlab” refereces. That was a great two-parter. I’m going with ex-military white guy too. ---

Well I think on the today show they said that it probably wasnt some ex-military guy, but someone who romanticized (sp?) the whole “sniper” idea and did research on it . ---

I’m with **happyheathen** on this. He’s not accurate for a trained sniper. Anyone with basic hand-eye coordination and a decent rifle could’ve made those shots. ---
