I wouldn’t mind the medical stuff. Lord knows I’ve done plenty of it with family members over the years. But I would not be happy working with divorce or custody cases. And I can’t bear the thought of trying to go door to door or get on the phone and sell things. I can sell online, but that is totally different. ---

I couldn’t work at a pet store that sold puppy-mill puppies, or that sold puppies to anyone who could pay for one, no other questions asked. ---

Because I do a certain amount of coughing and sneezing, food prep is out. I have thought about volunteering as an escort to sheild abortion clinic patients from the screaming protesters, but I don’t think I could maintain the calm necessary for that. After a couple days of being called a Nazi baby killer, I fear I’d need to smack somebody. ---

I’m 5’4" and not at all physically imposing. That job or anything else where being physically intimidating would be helpful is out for me. If I tried to look physically intimidating, I suspect the reaction would be either hysterical laughter or “WTF is that woman trying to do?” ---

There are a lot of jobs I would never do, when I think about it: - Anything involving nudity or sex (prostitute, exotic dancer, etc.–not that anyone would _want_ me to 😛 ) - Anything involving working at great heights (construction, roofer, etc.)–I’m scared of heights and don’t have the world’s greatest sense of balance - High pressure sales. I’m terrible at it. I’d rather starve honestly than be fired for sucking. - Any job that would require me to dress up, particularly in a very feminine or sexy way. - Any job that required a lot of long-distance travel. - Any job that would require me to deal with the suffering of animals–or particularly to kill them (even euthanasia). I would be utterly incapable of euthanizing a healthy cat or dog. I also couldn’t work in a slaughterhouse. - Any job that would require physical intimidation (like a bouncer). I’m tall for a female and can be rather imposing, but I’m kind of a wimp. People would probably laugh at me. I could probably do “icky” jobs (clean public restrooms, collect garbage, etc.) if it was either that or starvation. It’s amazing what one can get used to. But the above jobs, no way. ---

Funny the op mentions dog pound. That’s what I came in to post. I worked half a day at one, cleaning out the dog kennels. It was awful, and besides the obvious they’d raided a pit bull fighting ring and the joint was full of fighting dogs that barked at me the whole time I was there. I left at lunch and never looked back. ---

Anything involving raw sewage. Bodies don’t bother me but sewage does. Along those lines, working in a dog kennel. I don’t like dogs very much to begin with and the smell would do me in. Nun. I like sex too much to take a vow of chastity. ---

I used to be a pilot for an airline. I used to say “I could do this job for 30+ years. I could stand being a flight attendant for about one trip ( 3-4 days work). I could be a gate agent for only one departure; I’d be arrested before the second one after I gutted some pushy jerk.” ---
