What JRPG should I play next? (PSX, PS2, PS3)

So I’m going to cast my vote for Suikoden 2, the best game in a great series, though my big problem with it has always been that trying to get all 108 stars (characters) really does require using a guide (gamefaqs.com or whatever will work just fine, but yea). Not for the whole game, mind you, but at some point it opens up and you do recruitment stuff, and that’s when you’ll need the guide.

Not a problem. I have no qualms about using guides with games I’m not planning to replay that have significant missable content.

I’m also surprised Tales of Symphonia is not in your list.

Played it already? It’s a great game. Not as good as Chrono Cross(not even close, really), but a very cool game. It is on the PS2, even though it was for the Gamecube originally.
